I'm pretty particular sometimes, depending on my mood, and there are some things I just can't do without (mmmmmm, hamachi), so omakase at times has to wait. But it can be a good time when you are in the mood. And you can be surprised with items that you would otherise never have ordered, but that are worth the introduction. It was her first experience and she wants to try it again. I have my favorites; she has yet to develop hers. I am tempted to order omakase has I have yet to do that. My fear is not getting bad food or choice, but not having my favorites appear. But i think I will place my palette in the hands of the itamae.
